a girl born with Moebius Syndrome, a rare neurological condition that causes facial paralysis and restricts eye movement. Unable to fully smile or close her eyes, she faces significant challenges in social interaction, often being misunderstood by others due to her limited facial expression.

This project examines the intersection of body, mechanism, and adornment through a contemporary jewellery lens. Influenced by the structural logic of medical devices designed to support facial mobility in Moebius syndrome, it explores how mechanical systems can be repurposed into objects of personal expression and wearable design innovation.

The pieces transform the idea of motion into both form and function - reflecting the tension between precision engineering and the softness of the human body. The design language combines assembly-based construction with a futuristic industrial aesthetic, revealing visible joints, hinges, and articulated details as part of its visual identity.

Advanced 3D printing techniques are integrated into the earwear design, achieving sculptural precision and modular adaptability. The circular optical component can also function as a convertible brooch, merging chain and ear elements into a cohesive, multi-functional composition. Together, the collection investigates how technology and anatomy can coexist within jewellery as a medium for both innovation and identity.
